Date: Thursday 28 and Friday 29 September 2017
For more information about the Class of Cabaret program, you can watch some past participants' performances here, which may help to guide you with your song selection for the audition.
Applicants for the 2018 Class of Cabaret program should prepare one song (maximum 3 minutes) to be performed off by heart for the panel at the live auditions.
Ideally the selected repertoire should have good story telling content and/or have personal relevance to you, that either:
- Reflects an aspect of yourself
- You can relate to for a particular reason
- Reminds you of a life story or experience
- Inspires you
- Or another reason that relates to yourself or someone/something you know
Applicants should be able to talk about why they have chosen this particular song for the audition (this may be the same song submitted with your application).
Date: Thursday 28 and Friday 29 September 2017 (please arrive 15 minutes before your assigned time to check in). Exact audition times slots will be sent to applicants on Thursday 21 September.
Location: To be advised
Accompanist: We will provide a professional pianist to accompany any applicant on the day. However music teachers, parents or fellow students are more than welcome to accompany you if preferred. You may also accompany yourself on either piano or guitar if you wish.
Please Bring: Your own accompanist if preferred, or one copy of easy to read sheet music in the correct key for our accompanist. This music must be either taped or placed in a music folder. No backing tracks will be accepted for the live audition.
